The Presidents’ letter is again a
unified Presidents’ letter and again the subject is the pending
unification of the two POAs. A community-wide meeting will be
held at Lake Court Center on September 15th at 1p.m.
to cover the new By-Laws, Rules and Regulations, as well as the
voting process. A proposed budget will be discussed as well.
The budget is basically taking the two current POA budgets and
rolling them into one. The Unification Committee does not see
a need to raise the association dues and assessments for the
foreseeable future. The Covenants will remain the same for each
POA at this time and, hopefully, the new Lost Lake POA Board can
address them in the future.
The ballots should go out
early in October to all property owners in good standing, and
the ballots will be counted at the next community meeting on
November 3rd at Lake Court Center. When formed, the
Lost Lake POA Board will become responsible for any changes
needed to the By-Laws and Rules and Regulations, as well as
setting the budget for the 2009 Fiscal Year.
It is expected
that all utility issues, water and sewer, will soon be under the
control of the Lost Lake Utility District. The two existing
POAs will have no involvement in utility matters. Any costs
related to water or sewer in the Lost Lake area then become a
Utility District issue and not a POA issue.
The cost to form the new Lost Lake POA, including all county and
state fees, as well as legal costs, is projected not to exceed
$2,000. This cost will be split between the two existing POAs.
The Unification Committee has done a tremendous amount of work
over the past several months which is helping to keep costs
down.
The new By-Laws and Rules and Regulations, as well as the
proposed budget, will be posted here on the New Landing
website (www.newlanding.org) by September 5th
.
